SOUL

A person is alive as long as “Soul, Aatma or Spirit” remains within body.

What is soul from when it comes into the body, where does it go after leaving the body? Who takes the soul out of body? When it is taken out of body?

Science cannot answer these questions because “soul” is not something physical. Therefore, it falls outside the domain of science, alternatively we can find answers to these questions in religion only; all the religion revealed or non-revealed have their own concept of soul.

Of all the religions Islamic Scripture i.e. Qur’an provides most definite answers to these questions.

“And they ask you about the soul. Say the soul is something from

the command of my Lord, and you are not given from the knowledge,

but a little (meaning that soul having no corporeal manifestation is

beyond the comprehension of man).”

                                                                  (Surah Bani Israel, 17/85)

God is Everywhere

God is infinite, free of limitations of time and space, whereas man’s cognitive powers are finite, finite cannot embrace the infinite. Therefore, man can know God only to the extent which God chooses to reveal Himself.

God is manifest in:

·            Miracle of child birth

·            A mother crooning over her baby.

·            Changes of seasons, rotation of day and night.

·            The sea, the clouds, the winds.

·            The sun and the moon, the stars and the law they obey.

·            The sunsets, dawns, hills, streams ravine, vineyard, and gardens of palms.

There are innumerable signs of manifestations of God for those who reflect.

Where is Air? What can it answer?

Ask the fish, in which it swims,

Where is water? What can it answer?

Ask the man where is God?

What can he answer?

UPWARD Mobility

At the start of his career Mr.Mobile lived in an apartment.

In a gathering someone remarked “Poor Fellow does not even a piece of land or a roof of his own”.

To be acceptable he bought a house.

But again he heard “poor does not have even a lawn.”

So he purchased a “one unit” house with lawn.

But was he ‘acceptable?’

He continued to hear “Poor Fellow does not have even ‘this or that’.

To be ‘acceptable’ he acquired all ‘this or that’.

One by one Mr. Mobile acquired all the status symbols of rich, successful., thereby gained entry into JET SET.

Thinking now that there was no more room for ‘UPWARD MOBILITY’, he should now be ‘Acceptable’.

But was he?

At an international gathering he was introduced to Lord Noble from England

(Whose genealogy was known for fifteen generations).

After introduction Lord Noble, said to Mr. Mobile,

“Pray, I do not seem to have heard about your family.

I AM SELF-MADE.! Boasted Mr. Mobile

Lord Noble uttered ‘Oh novo rich ! And moved away.

Mr. Mobile was nonplussed, and felt sorry for himself,

that despite having acquired everything that money could buy, still I am not ‘Acceptable’.    

Now what should he do?

He should count God’s blessings and be thankful to Him, and remember that in this very world more than 1 billion people live in poverty i.e. at less than US $ 1.20 per day.
