THE SUCCESSFUL ONES

THE SUCCESSFUL ONES

MUSLIMS SPECIFIC

“Take heed the world is place of mischief, its pleasures are finite, its achievements are passing, and it is death in the end, the hour (Day of Judgment) is to come.”

“O my brethren the body is weak, the provision is meagre, the journey is long, the path is hazardous, the fire is all consuming, the ocean is deep, and the judge is august.”

“Whoever is kept away from fire and admitted to Paradise has really succeeded”.
(Surah Al-Imran 03/185).

For God Sake who is Jacqueline?

FOR GOD SAKE WHO IS JACQUELINE?

Is she Jacqueline Bouvier or Jacqueline Kennedy or Jacqueline Onassis?

At birth she was given the name Jacqueline Lee Bouvier

When John F. Kennedy married her she became Jacqueline Kennedy.

After assassination of Kennedy, Greek ship tycoon Aristotle married
her and she became Jacqueline Onassis.

So throughout her life she did not have her own name or identification.

The 12th century French Emperor had decreed “Women shall take their
husband’s name”.

This decree had the effect of robbing women of their identity.

Since then women in Europe have been taking their husbands names.

In Islam there is no such confusion verse 5 of Surah Ahzab (33/05) of
Qur’an enjoins

“Call children by their real father’s name.”

That means daughters shall be identified as so and so “bint” (daughter of)
so and so in this world and hereafter. The relation between father
and children are unchangeable.

FOOD FOR THOUGH" FIND YOURSELF IN QUR'AN"

                                           FIND YOURSELF IN QUR’AN

Qur’anic scholars say “everyone can identify one-self in Qur’an by nature, character, attitude and behavior.” Man has negative traits as well as positive traits or virtues.

NEGATIVE TRAITS

VIRTUES

Virtuous are those who

        Walk on earth humbly
        When the ignorant (lacking knowledge)
Argue with them they say “peace”
When they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly.
Do not kill anyone whom Allah has give sanctity.
        Who do not fornicate?
                                          (Surah Furqan 25/63, 64)

        Who avoid vain talks?
Who give Zakat spend on charity.
Who faithfully observe their trust and covenants?
                                      (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23//1-9)

Those who bid fair and forbid unfair.
                                           (Surah At-Taubah 09/112)

Those who honour their pledges and covenants.
                                           (Surah Al-Ma’arij 70/32)

"LIFE SPAN"

Life Span

This is a bench in a garden; people come, sit for a while and go away.

To quote from a short story; by Shaukat Thanvi (Urdu Short story writer around 1950)

A group of Memon shopkeepers (Memon is a business community in Pakistan) sat for some time, discussed about their business and went away.

Then came a group of students, discussed about their studies and went away.

Then came a group of Ayas (maid servants for babies) with babies in the perambulator, talked about their babies and their madams, and returned to their houses.

Allah said, “Go down, (to earth) there you shall live and there you shall die, and from there you shall be raised again.”
(Surah Al-Araf 24-25)

This directive is applicable to all descendants of Adam and Hawwa (Eva), who will come in this world till the Day of Judgment, when they will be resurrected, good deeds will be rewarded and sinful deeds will result in punishment.

LET US PONDER ARE WE READY FOR ACCOUNTABILITY?

"Wealth What For"

“Wealth what for”

Qur’an says;

“Wealth is a means of sustaining life”.
(Al-Qur’an Chapter 04 Verse 05)

To sustain life every living person needs Food, Clothing and Shelter. Let us see how much is needed to satisfy these needs.

FOOD

Be it a sumptuous feast or simple meal A man can partake only a limited of food.

CLOTH
The purpose of cloth is to adorn body and protect from the harshness of weather.  One may have   Wardrobe full of costly garments, but one can wear only one suit of clothes at a time is it costly suit or simple dress.

SHELTER
In other words house. A family needs house to live in and be safe therein. An average family of 5 persons needs a living space of approximately 1000 sq. feet.

A single story house adequately fulfills this need. A palatial house is a status symbol.

SLEEP
Qur’an specifies Day for engaging in pursuit of economic activities and Night for sleep.

A man needs only 6’x4’ space for sleeping. Be it a King Size Bed or simple cot does not need more than 6’x4’ feet for sleeping; only dust is gathered on surplus space.
(Al-Qur’an Surah Al-Naba’ 78/09-11)

Mr. Saleem Aftab a businessman once remarked “Say today I Have 5 Crore Rupees (50 million) and next year my wealth increases to 7 crore Rupees (70 million) what difference it will make for my person. I shall still be partake a limited amount of, wearing only one pair of garment at a time and needing only a limited space for sleeping.

JUST PONDER, JUST PONDER, AND JUST PONDER!

Share your wealth with your family, and the needy,  you will feel happiness which words cannot express.

MODERN MAN

MODERN MAN

Modern Man lives in controlled temperature and artificial light.

                                                    Control Temperature                                           Artificial Lights

He has no occasion to see;

Ø Splendor and beauty of sunrise or sunset,
Ø The beauty of Starry night,
Ø Enchanting serenity of moonlit night,
Ø Birds flying in the air,
Ø Clouds floating in the sky,
Ø Fragrance flowers in the garden,
Ø Chirping of birds in the tree.

These are but a few glimpses of God’s beautiful world, gifted to mankind.

Those who see these manifestations can feel HIS nearness. Conversely those who are blind to these signs, for them God has become irreverent. It is as if they have put God on a far-away mist covered mountain.

Deprived of Divine Guidance, he has ceased to live soulfully, i.e. from within. In the domain of thought he is living in open conflict with himself ignoring the warnings of built-in monitor called conscious, he goes on trampling /injuring over others rights and properties.

In the domain of economic and political; life he is living in open conflict with others, he is either exploiter or exploited.

He finds himself unable to control his ruthless egoism and his infinite gold-hunger, which is gradually killing all higher striving in him and bringing him nothing but life-weariness.

                             Starry Night                                  Moonlit Night
